Social media has gone somewhat down hill with cretive content. My idea is to create a social media website that put the user first at heart. It would be like a live action art protfolio which would be aimed for artist in mind. I know that everyone is artistic in some way or another so if your not in to making videos then maybe digital design will be for you. When a user makes an account, they will take a survey that shows your strengths and weakness as an artist. The person can choose wheater or not if a person wants to improve on their weaknesses or stay with what your good at. The user has the option of changing his or her mind at any time. There will be a chart system that shows your improvements over time.
Privacy settings will be in top priority. There will be restrictions on saving pictures and other content on everyones" page. This is something I learned in one of my lecture classes. Privacy settings are very important when it comes to social media sites. Just by going on a search engine and typing your names into it, a person can find any information they can get their hands on. This would be the greatest goal once my idea goes into motion.
I like the self assessment aspect of the site. I think it might be beneficial to think about potential ways to integrate with already existing social networks to help draw in crowds rather than trying to create something completely from the ground up, but that is just an idea.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds a lot like a combination of DeviantArt, Photobucket, and Facebook. What you came up with is definitely something that is missing in our world today. Honestly, how often do people use Facebook for art-related purposes? Hopefully your social media idea could change this.
